Is it possible to retrieve deleted photos/videos from Samsung?
To techy people...

My younger son decided to be efficient and upload all the photos and video from his phone from the Man Utd match to the PC without me, then deleted them all. Only he hadn't actually uploaded them all. Not sure how he managed to do it.

Is there a way to retrieve these? Or to pay a company to retrieve these. These are photos and video of three generations of my family at the last ever match and I'm a bit... annoyed.

If the files were on an SD card it may be possible to find them again by putting the card inro a PC and using an off-the-shelf file restoration program (deletion doesn't generally "delete" it just removes the file from it's index and marks the relevant space as free for use.

That last bit is the key - if nothing has been written to the store since the incident, then 100% recover is highly probably, but even if just "a little bit of data" has been written/saved to disk, and that used any of the now free disk space that your files were on you'll either have gaps in the files or, if it's the actual start of the old file, a much harder (more expensive) task with your recovery.

You HAVE left the phone well alone since your son's handiwork, haven't you???

Very quiet innit, I just hope it's not murder, or suicide.

OK, but is it a WP7 or a WP8. That determines which syncing app he can use, unless I'm mistaken.

I thought Zune was only for Windows Phone 7 devices?

There was a Windows Phone app for syncing Windows Phone 8 devices, but this seems to have disappeared/been replaced by Windows Phone Companion. I have the impression that this latter app is only available for use with Windows 10 on the desktop (usual MS bullshit).

As you can tell, I'm no expert but syncing does seem to be a problem with this phone.

Fifth, try this:

Solution 1: Recover Photos from Windows Phone Zune Backup

Most Windows phone use Zune for media files management. If you installed Zune software, it will automatically backup all your data and settings when you connect your Windows phone to computer. If you have a recent backup with your files in Zune, it is much easier to recover your deleted photos.

1. Connect your Windows Phone to computer and run Zune software.
2. Go to Settings > Phone > Update > Restore.
3. Then follow the on-screen instruction to complete the restoration.

I can understand your annoyance mate that sounds heart breaking, although memories that are held within the brain are definitely the best ones.
Sorry It wont help the issue, but having videos and pictures can be overrated and I am the type of prick who always has a Camera .

If your phone has an external space saving hard drive like cloud or onedrive then the photos may have been automatically saved to that. Other than that it will be a jailbreaking job to have any chance I assume.
